Another Finish!

So I'm back again. I have another finish that I can show you. I finished my section on the next part of the round robin I'm doing. Both the girls I'm doing it with have given me the green light to share their designs. So this is Claire's design.

My contribution.
The round robing so far.
This was such a pleasure to stitch. It is a Lesley Teare design that was in a free booklet with a cross stitch crazy magazine. It is stitched on 28 count Jobelan in Summer Breeze by Hand Dyed Fabrics by Stephanie. Threads are DMC with 1 colour in Anchor. Needle Minder is from Needle Keep Emporium on Etsy.

I've made a start on a pretty tricky project, at least I think it might be tricky. The orchestra that I play in decided to get sweaters and fleece jackets with the orchestra logo on the front. We didn't opt for the version with the printed backs so I have decided to stitch my own. I'm going to do this design from Blue Topaz Stitchery on Etsy.

Here's how far I've got so far.

If anyone has ever stitched onto fleece then I am open to any advice you may have. Otherwise .I'll let you know how I get on.

I wasn't in the mood to cart around my Hogwart's crest today so I just took a magazine freebie out with me to do whilst the kids played at a local play place/farm. So no progress pics today, I'll post that one when it's done.

I received my new order from Chromatic Alchemy today. Here's what I got
Top Left: Bridget's Garden - 28 count Lugana.
Top Right: Petra - 28 count Opel Cashel.
Bottom Left: Petra - 28 count Lugana.
Bottom Right: Dune - 28 count Lugana.

I think that's all for tonight. I hope everyone's good, and having lots of stitchy fun, and I'll leave you with tonight's sunset as seen from my bedroom. Good night. L xx

Late Update!

OK, so I'm a bad blogger! I had totally planned on at least a weekly update, but hey, life gets in the way!

So, what's been happening since my last post? Well I've had a couple finishes, and a couple of new starts, and I've received my first batches of hand dyed floss and materials. So I've got a lot to discuss and show.

First off is a mini finish. I got my round robin section finished and posted onto my group mate. It's a Sheila Hudson design from a Cross Stitcher magazine from 2001. I'm stitching it on 14 count white Aida with DMC colours.  My needle minder is from needle keep emporium. Here's my finished square.

I'm now working on the piece that came to me. I'm stitching a mermaid. I'll need to check with my round robin friends to make sure that they are happy for me to share pictures of their pieces on here.

My next finish was also a new start. One of the girls on one of my FB groups, Stitch Maynia, Started her own SAL group to stitch a design for her birthday which is this month. She picked the sister stitcher design by The Primitive Hare. here's a link to that page sister stitcher

and here's my finished piece. I stitched it on 28 Cashel linen from Jodyri designs. It was her September fabric of the month which was called Elvenwood. I used the DMC new variations threads.

Just need to get her address and get it shipped off to her. I am loving the material. This was the first time I had stitched on hand dyed material, and the first time that I have swapped out colours and moved away from the written colours. I totally loved stitching this and it only took me 1 week to stitch.

I got started on The Hogwarts crest that I'm going to do for my daughter. I got the pattern from Stitchering on Etsy. here's a link to what it's going to look like, hogwarts crest

I'm stitching it on 14 count Aida in Nimbus from Chromatic Alchemy. My needle minder here is from A little Red Moon. Here's where I am right now with it.

I've also been working on the fantasy SAL  from Lakeside Needlecraft and Durene Jones. and here's where I'm up to on this.

I am loving the colours in this. I'm stitching it on 28 count cream evenweave that I had in my stock as I hadn't even looked at hand dyed at that stage. Also, I need to say a big thank you to Kate Worthington who runs Lakeside needlecraft. She replies to emails/FB messages so fast and the deliveries are always so quick. I won't go anywhere else for my DMC threads now as I can order them one day and have them just 2 days later, which is really handy when I'm working back to back shifts. My Princess Leigha needle minder is from needle keep emporium

So I got a delivery of material and threads. But unfortunately my disk station has stopped working again so I'll need to post those pictures next time! oh, nope, wait, it's working again!!! so here's the pictures.

The first lot is all from Chromatic Alchemy. There are 4 pieces of Aida and one piece of 28 count Cashel. Which I have kitted up for a project.

The second lot is the fabric and threads of the month from Jodyri designs. I got the fabric of the month in 28 count cashel and Brittany. I also got the 5 monthly threads which are just gorgeous.

OK, It's now very late/early and I can't think of anything else to add right now. Sorry for a long one, this will maybe teach me to write more often! Finally a thank you to Stitcherista on flosstube for keeping me company/distracted whilst I wrote this. If you haven't already watched her I suggest that you do. Stitcherista flosstube.
