Round robin oopsy!

So I was making good progress on my round robin square when I discovered that I had obviously had a "moment" when looking out my threads. The next colour I needed to use was DMC 727, but I couldn't find it. I had pulled out DMC 772 instead, oops! It turns out that my 727 was in my kit for the Durene Jones and Lakeside Needlecraft fantasy stitch along. Not to worry though, one quick order to Lakeside needlecraft on Tuesday and my thread arrived (with some other haul) on Wednesday, meaning I came home from a long day at work to stitchy post, YAY! I highly recommend Kate at Lakeside Needlecraft. Her service is always quick and efficient.

so this is where i am now up to with my round robin.
I'm working a night shift tonight so I'll be working on it again whilst on my break. When I'm working night shift I like to spend my break watching either catch up TV or Netflix whilst stitching. It really de-stresses me and keeps me moderately calm. I'll add a picture of my stitchy spot at work sometime.

A couple of weeks ago I went out to the garage to look for any framed pictures that moved with us and havent been put up in the house yet. I found quite a few including these 2.

The dog face is now up in the kitchen and I'm still trying to find a place for Brooklyn's view.

I have lots of projects that I want to get started on but I'm waiting on the material arriving for a few of them. Hopefully in the next few weeks I'll get them and I'll be able to share with you my plans.

Till the next time I hope you all have lots of fun with your stitching. xx

Dayshifts @ work.

Last week I went back onto day shifts at work. No biggie. It just means I  don't get any stitching done in my breaks like I do on night shift. Normally on a night shift I take along a small, easy to follow pattern. At the beginning of the month I joined a Round Robin. It took me a while to figure out what pattern I wanted to do, but then I found one in an old magazine. If I stitched the border, then it made each square just under 60 x 60 stitches. I finished the border last night (see above). Now I just have to work on my square. I have until the 1st October when it needs to be posted on to the next person. I'm really looking forward to stitching whatever it is that the others have planned.

I also joined the Lakeside Needlecraft fantasy stitch along. I've made a little progress on that but I haven't taken any recent pictures. I'll try and post some pictures next time.

anyway I'll write again soon, I just wanted to make a quick update while I can. Back on day shift tomorrow.

So after attempting to write blogs before, here I go again! This time though I am going to blog about my passion for cross-stitching and maybe occasionally my music making.

My name is Lorna. I am 40 years old!!. I live in a county of Scotland called Fife (hence my blog name) and I have been cross-stitching for almost 30 years. I had a break from it for quite a few years after having my children (I just did not have the time or energy to stitch), and  I have just recently reignited my passion for this craft and I would like to share it with others who have similar my interests. Along with my cross-stitch hobby I am also a keen bassist and play weekly in a local amateur orchestra, so I may on occasions share some of that passion too.

The picture above is a recent finish that just needs to be framed. It is a dimensions kit called Power nap. at some point I may add in random photos of finished-on-the-wall projects but we'll just see how this goes first.

Thanks for reading. I'll post again soon.

Lorna xx
